Fourth Sunday of Advent

The fourth Sunday of Advent was the day for Christmas card writing. 

I wrote this year's Christmas greetings accompanied by a glass of Tawny port and chocolate-dipped marzipan rolled in chocolate powder.

Third Sunday of Advent

Yesterday, it was the third Sunday of Advent 
- and Christmas is really close now ★

In less than 2 weeks, we will be with our families, enjoy great food, light lots of candles, and just spend the entire evening with our loved ones gathered around the Christmas table.

Second Sunday of Advent

Yesterday, my children and I spent the entire day at home. It was the second Sunday of Advent, and time for this year's confection. While the weather was very wintry, we had a fantastic time inside.

We made confection with marzipan and nougat from Summerbird, some with a chopped, dry fig inside - others with plain marzipan and shredded coconut on the top.

First Sunday of Advent

The Advent tradition is a time of preparation - and for me - a count-down to Christmas. My advent wreath this year is very simple.

As I often don't know where to place the wreath, I've found another solution this year; our new lantern in XL is easy to decorate with 4 candles and some pines - a few of them with glitter.

I love the way it lightens up the window in our dining room.
