My favorite products

Now it's time for my last post here at the blog, and I would therefore share some products with you, that I have been totally in love with since the first day I saw them. This applies in particular to the big rattan baskets that are perfect for plants and therefore also for the Nordic decor.

Rattanbasket

Rattanbasket is made by plaited rattan and they are in this lovely natural look. You can use them outside, but in my opinion they are also very lovely for indoor use.
I love to have large trees indoor, and these basket are perfect as a base for the trees. The natural material makes the botanical living emphasized and not least more accomplished. They will also be very decorative on a terrace or in a orangery.

Rattan is a popular material in decor, and that is for a good reason. It is a durable material that fits together with many other materials, it is lightweight and as earlier mentioned it is suitable for outdoor as well as indoor use. This makes of course a product more exciting when it can be used in various environments.
Are the large rattan baskets too big for you and your home, you´ll maybe like the very decorative rattanpot which also can be used for plants, but certainly also will be beautiful for storing kitchen accessories and office items.
You find Rattanbasket here and Rattanpot here

Woodcabinet

The woodcabinet is made by hand and from plantation harvested rubber wood. I am very inspired by the opportunity to exhibit ones favorite things, and not least to create still life in the beautiful cabinet.
The woodcabinet is perfect for kitchen and bathroom, but I would place it next to my large dinner table where I spend a lot of time working and relaxing. It is a perfect cabinet for a space where you spend a lot of time, and where you need things near and easy to get a hold of.

You find woodcabinet in two colors here.

New Art and Moroccan vases

These vases are so wonderful - both as a collection of vases and as a single vase. I am very infatuated with the hand-drawn pattern on New art vases and the shapes of the Moroccan vases - they are so organic and beautiful.

You find New art and the moroccan vases here

Glass vases

As earlier mentioned here at the blog, I am very happy with glass vases and glass products. Especailly when you mix a lot together or use them with products in other material - This could especially be ceramics. The shapes and sizes of the glass vases makes them great to mix and makes a wonderful table full of flowers. Remember it is alright to see the soil, and plant roots - it does not always have to be flower bouquet you use in glass vases, you can also plant in glass vases to create a natural look.

You find glass vases here together with our other glass products.

New velvets

Soft pillows and beautiful rich deep colors are essential in the fall and winter time. And the new velvet cushion covers are just the right choice if you fell the same as me. The softness are amazing and just look at the colors. Mix and match and create a soft and lovely reading corner.

You find all velvet products here.

I have enjoyed spending time at tinekhome, and I have enjoyed being in contact with so many of you readers and Instagram followers. I hope I have given you inspiration and that you have got an insight in this lovely company and its amazing products.

Now I want to say thank you so much for spending time with me here at the blog and on instagram. Next step for me is to go on maternity leave so I can be ready for baby brother to arrive. Thank you for a lovely summer.
Best summer greetings from Stine

Tablesetting - ready for Sunday cake

They say the weather will get better this weekend, so why not focus on summer cake and summer tables.
All of you who follow us at Instagram, may have seen some of these photos before, but I hope it is alright I show them again. The reason why I want to show them again, is that I think it is important to keep in mind that there is still a long period where you can find beautiful gardenflowers to use in your table setting.

A couple of weeks ago, I made this delicious cheesecake together with my family in celebration of the lovely weather. It was one of these slow days in our holiday where time was spend picking flowers in the garden, and where there was plenty of time to sit around the table and enjoy each others company.

I mixed the flowers with the wonderful Moonnapkins, which I am very excited about. They come in two colors, and are made in linen gauze. I used the white ones because of the warm summer weather, but I also have a huge crush on the napkins in fig color.

Ceramic vase

The beautiful glazed ceramic vase Glazedome is a classic and wonderful vase which is perfect for a summer bouquet. I love the shape, and the size. It can easily be mixed with glass and other ceramics, and complement the flowers really well. Again there is more colors - in my opinion one for the summer table, one for the graphic home, and one for a classic and romantic home.

You find all three Glazedome vases here.

Plates for the Sunday cake

To serve the cake I used the Servoval which have this lovely oval shape and which comes in a delicate white design.
Often you will probably use the oval shaped dishes as serving dishes, but they are also quite obvious to use as plates. I think it gives an exclusive feel when using them as plates, instead of the more traditional round plates.

You find Servoval here.

How do you set the table?

Many of you have already shown your version of table setting with flowers on Instagram, and it has been so inspiring to follow along. I hope you will join the #tinekhome inspiration board at Instagram, and show us how you decorate your table with flowers and tinekhome products.

In this post I gave you an idea on how to make a simple decor and table setting with a small selection of flowers from the garden. But there is also a lot of pretty flowers to find in the forest or by the road.

I go for a natural look and a table setting that provides a relaxed and pleasant expression - what do you prefer? Have fun setting the table, and keep up inspiring us with your great decor by using #tinekhome.

Best wishes for a lovely day - Stine

tinekhome store in Odense

Every week I spend a day at @tinekhomestore in Odense. The day is spent on photographing for our blog and other media. I worked there for a few hours today, and therefore I would like to tell you a bit about the place.

tinekhome store is near the main shopping street, HC Andersen Museum and Children's Museum - The Tinderbox. The street where you will find our store is called Overgade, and it is in my opinion one of the most charming areas of Odense. It is a street in development but already now you will find delicious shops, great coffee bars and traditional Danish restaurants. Are you visiting Odense, you must pass by the street to visit us, but also to visit the various museums, drink good coffee and shop unique interior.

The store is full of design from tinekhome and Pia who is the daily manager, has a great sense for decorating, and creating a homely and cozy environment full of atmosphere
In the back of the store, we have a large room where the timber frame is preserved and where the timber is a big part of the room. The timber is a great detail in the room, and it complements the products really well - in the end of this blog post you can see photos of the room.

Have a look, and remember to stop by if you are in Odense. You can follow the store at instagram - @tinekhomestore

Use glass in your home decor - it adds a classic look

We want more and more glass in our decor and it's a development I personally am quite happy about. You can plant in glass, use them as vases, storage of beautiful things, or have them on the table as a single decoration - it does not matter, glass is always beautiful in a decoration, no matter which way you use it.

I myself am a big believer in using glass for plants and flowers. I think it's great to see plants from the beginning to the end. And it creates a more natural expression when soil and roots
are visible.

The new glass products from tinekhome has sandblasted stripes on the outside, and I clapped my small hands when I saw it. Adding strips on glass adds something classic to the design and makes it even more decorative.

Especially the drinking glasses are for me in a classic design with the sandblasted pattern. And I'm convinced that it's glasses that will be flying off the shelves as soon as they hit the stores. So if you like me are a bit fascinated by them, it's probably a good idea to buy as soon as you have the chance.

Glass vases

Mix your glass vases so you have a selection of different sizes and shapes. Choose either to keep it very simple with a single flower in each vase, or make a great summer bouquet with all the flowers you find in your garden. A bouquet of flowers from the roadside, can also be incredibly beautiful.

I am very fond of poppies - even when the flower has withered. Let it dry and you have decorative poppies for the autumn table. And not least, a lot of seeds for next season.
Remember that poppies like the cold of winter. Therefore spread the seeds in your garden before the frosty weather hits your garden.

When you have a high glass vase you do not always need to use flowers that are high enough for the vase. It can also create a beautiful expression if your decoration of flowers are inside the vase as illustrated below.

Were you inspired to use more glass in your decor? Show us on Instagram how to use glass for vases or storage. Perhaps you have a good idea when it comes to flowers we can use at the summer table.

Our showroom decorated with MOON collection by tinekhome

With a showroom full of delicious news from the MOON collection, I think it is obvious to show you around in the showroom, and show you some of the beautiful designs which Tine has decorated with.
I am very impressed by the new products in the MOON collection and I have in very short time got a lot of products on my wish list.

As Tine so gracefully writes in the introduction to the MOON catalogue: "I enjoy autumn and winter with dark deep colors, contrasts and calmness."
The feeling that the sentence provides continuous in the products, which are all designed in colors that create a tranquility and contemplation. There is something very cozy and quiet about our showroom right now, and I can easily imagine have to enjoy the colors of autumn, and winter silence in a pile of beautiful pillows, or by the fireplace with the amazing MOONSCARF-FIG around me, and elegant ceramics on the table.

The combination of tinekhome products is a great detail when it comes to the new collection, and actually also the older collections - there is central theme through all the products and simultaneously each product can easily stand alone or with other design brands. It is in my opinion a detail that is important to remember both when designing products, but also when we as customers buy the products.

Some products which for me stands out

I have a huge crush on the MOONSCARF-FIG - the softness of the wool and the way it shows the shades of the colors. It is made of 100% wool and the softness is completely wonderful. Use it as a big scarf or wear it over your shoulders when winter days are cold.

Ceramics you can not get enough of, if you ask me. The Art pottery from tinekhome is very decorative, and I'm particularly excited about the delicate vase with soft shapes - the slightly chubby one at the left side of the picture. The lines in the the pattern are beautiful.

The colors of the cushions are really nice, and especially the pillows in velvet has made an impression on me. Velvet adds something deep and elegant to the home, and it is more and more on the way back in the decor.

Storage and great design

The beautiful cabinet with glass doors is such a great furniture. The size of it and the fact that the shelves are removeable makes it functional and pretty. The cabinet is perfect for bathroom or entrance, but I would actually use it in the living room. The hard metallic outer of the cabinet is decorative with my collcetion of ceramics and glass. Put it together with books and some plants, and you have a great still life in your living room.

Sleeping time

The last detail in the showroom I will mention in this blog post, is the lovely SOFTPILLOW and SOFTQUILT which comes in 3 colors. The big pillow is just inviting for relaxing time and bookreading. The perfect ending on a working day, and the perfect ending on this blog post.

Best summer greetings from Stine (www.nordiskeriger.dk)
